INVEST - the characteristics of a good user story

Bill Wake created the INVEST mnemonic, originally for the Extreme Programming agile methodology. Regardless of the methodology you use, you can benefit from following those six principles. For example, I used the principles successfully with both Kanban, Scrum and my methodology, the Kaizen-UX.
